Consumer spending on mobile content spending is expected to grow from 17.66bn in 2005 to 59bn by 2009 globally, according to Juniper Research. People are increasingly demanding mobile content across all the major genres: games, music, film, and support. This means that the contents stored on a mobile phone, whether it is mp3s, video, images, or simply contact information, could amount to a very high value for many people in the sort term future. This data isn’t covered by loss or theft, and could discourage people from upgrading their phone to the latest model as the content is trapped on their current handset.
